historic cycle collection

Oxford is famous for cycling so we have a wonderful historic cycle collection which boasts interesting examples starting from the mid-1800s. We have penny-farthings and a replica gentleman’s hobbyhorse or “boneshaker” these were mainly made from wood, so few have survived to the present day.

“BEST MUSEUM IN OXFORDSHIRE”
Lived in Oxfordshire most of my life and never visited the museum, much to my detriment. Fantastic museum with so much to see and do. Great for kids and adults. Loved all the little touches including a momento vintage bus ticket when riding on the free vintage buses. The whole museum is an absolute credit to all that work there and renovate the amazing exhibits, cars, bikes, buses, trams, memorabilia etc etc etc. Will definitely be going again.
